Canadian pediatric surgeons can use the Residual Bowel App to track resected bowel regions, collect residual data in surgery, and receive an estimate of the remaining bowel.

This app allows users to record the length of each resected piece manually or by using the live augmented reality environment.

By entering resected bowel measurements, residual data, and patient data such as age, height, and weight, the app calculates the total resected amounts and estimated remaining intestinal length* and generates a report with this data.

This report can be converted into a PDF and sent as an email attachment for patient records.

Residual Bowel App has been developed by Takeda Canada Inc. in partnership with pediatric surgeon Dr. Paul Wales.
